Automotive Culture

The amazing thing about working in the automotive industry is channeling engineering and culture into one passion, photography. From covering luxury brands to late model cars to NASCAR Craftsman Trucks, I’ve developed a formidable style that can be applied to anything and everything ‘car.’

Photo Strategy

A local barbershop came to the production company I used to work for with the problem: “No one cares about a photos of a haircuts”. The typical photos of the haircutting process weren’t gaining any traction on social media. So, instead of making the haircut the hero, we switched it to the stylist’s personality. I visited 6 local Arrow shops once per month and have developed a recurring portrait strategy. After 6 months, the client and the team have been thrilled with the results and this style of photo has also helped new stylists book more appointments—which is the main goal of their social media content.

Drone Flights

I’ve been flying drones for 3 years through factories, urban environments, and construction sites. When I’m flying I’m looking for a shot that plays on shapes and shadows. A lot of drone photography is a wide aerial without much thought of the composition, it’s important to me that I don’t use the drone’s view as crutch, but as a tool.
